Interlibrary Loan - Borrowing Policies

Any student, faculty, or staff of the Musicians Institute may use this service. [Please note students not currently taking classes, faculty not currently teaching classes, and alumni are excluded from this service.] Articles will be delivered electronically and books / media must be picked up at the circulation desk. Requested articles will be ordered worldwide, but books will be borrowed only from libraries in the US and Canada.   Fees: The requestor will be charged for fees and shipping of the books. The requestor will be notified of any cost associated with the request and will agree to pay before the requested is formalized and the item is shipped. Overdue fines are $1.00 per day per item with no limit; borrowers are responsible for replacement costs for any borrowed item.   Requests are made through the Interlibrary Loan Request form through the Library Tab within the Portal. There is no limit to the number of requests a person can make within reason. Items which may be requested: Books and journal articles not owned by the library in either print or electronic format, media and theses according to the policy of the library which owns them. Items which may not be borrowed: Complete issues of periodicals, textbooks used in classes, test manuals, items owned by the library but currently check out, and items previously obtained for the requestor.
