International Index to Music Periodicals Full Text (IIMP Database)

IIMP offers abstracts from over 470 international music periodicals from over 30 countries offering over a million articles on contemporary music through a comprehensive range of subject areas in both scholarly and popular music journals ranging from International Journal of Music Education, Ethnomusicology, Jazz Education Journal and Musical Times to Rock and Rap Confidential and Rolling Stone.

 

Grove Dictionary of American Music, 2nd edition

(Please click, "Show Only Titles in My Subscription," to the left) is the largest, most comprehensive reference publication on American Music. Coverage includes popular music, cities and regions, musical theater, opera, concert music, and music technology, as well as the musical traditions of many ethnic and cultural groups. The articles of the dictionary range from small definitions of dance styles and musical terms to mid‐length biographies of important performers, composers and music patrons, to longer examinations of larger subjects such as the history of jazz, musical instruments, music education in the United States, and the American history of the orchestra. The dictionary’s articles are supplemented by over 400 images and 140 musical examples and other materials.

JSTOR

The JSTOR Music Collection contains thirty‐three leading titles in the field of musicology, music theory, ethnomusicology, and music education. Titles available in the JSTOR Music Collection are also included in a subscription to the Arts and Sciences III collection. Date coverage spans from 1844 to 2014. Oxford Grove Music Online Oxford Music Online

is the industry's most popular business research database, and a great resource for music business, audio engineering, and guitar craft, featuring the full text for more than 2,200 journals. Full text is provided back to 1965, and searchable cited references back to 1998.

 

Music Index

offers indexing and abstracts as part of a comprehensive guide to music periodicals and literature. Formerly The Music Index Online by Harmonie Park Press, this database provides comprehensive coverage of the music field and every aspect of the classical and popular worlds of music. With cover‐to‐cover indexing and abstracts for hundreds of periodicals, this resource is an invaluable resource for both the novice and scholar.
